Carin's Therapy Garden
Carin Bicker has studied horticultural therapy, and has even started her own business designing therapeutic gardens.
One of the most important elements in Carin's garden is the waterfront where she can sit in the glider and enjoy wildlife and weather. She organized the other homes on the lake to restore native plantings that had been destroyed by incautious spraying. Today the shoreline is protected, and both wildlife and residents can enjoy pickerel blooming
and other wetland plants.
Carin's garden includes a wide variety of other plants including many natives and Florida friendly plants. Besides the plants, there are many artifacts that engage the eye and invite the visitor to spend time- statuary, benches, a birdbath, funny signs, reflecting balls. The other senses are appealed to as well. The garden offers texture, color, smell, and sound, and even a pinch of dill to taste.
